In the middle of the Namib Dessert the Sossusvlei is a very special landmark. You can drive deep between the red sand dunes and hike around.
Africa Part 4/8 – The Westcoast
From the Spitzkoppe to Cape Cross and down the coast. Here are some pictures taken along the road heading for Sossusvlei.
Africa Part 3/8 – Spitzkoppe
In the middle of nowhere the Spitzkoppe is a pretty amazing place. I have never seen a better nightsky in my entire life. There is absolutley nothing around. Enjoy!
Africa Part 2/8 – Etosha National Park
One of the biggest updates I have done so far. Etosha Nationalpark in northern Namibia was one of the highlights of this trip. I spent five days in the park and saw a lot of wildlife. Without a supertele it took me a lot of patience and luck to get close-ups of the animals. I can really recommend to do an organized tour with one of the rangers. They have a really good eye for seeing hidden animals! Sometimes they are right in front of you but you don’t see them. Enjoy! As always, click to enlarge!
Giraffes
Elephants
Rhinos
Lions
The first three photos were just possible because we drove with a ranger. You’re not allowed to leave the campgrounds before sunrise and you have to be back before sunset. You have to book a gamedrive with one of the rangers … which is very recommendable!

Africa Part 1/8 – Up to Etosha
Here is Part 1 of 8 of my recent trip to Southafrica/Namibia. I took most of these pictures in the Quivertree Forest near Keetmanshoop.
Kolmanskop
Here is another sneak preview of upcoming pictures. The door to the past … long forgotten, an eerie place. Now back to the wilderness!
On the road
Sorry for the lack of updates lately. I am still on the road and will be back in something over a month. Here is a picture I took five hours ago. More to come in the beginning of September!
